Life Is but a Dream: Figurative Acrylic Paintings by Martine Johanna

Martine Johanna's acrylic painting series were "Life Is but a Dream" and "Dark Matter," which were held at Massey Klein Gallery in the US and KochXBos Gallery in Amsterdam. Last year was full of decay, dread, and sad emotions; this year, she hopes for new beginnings and a fresh start in life. One of her first artworks was titled "The Beauty of Decay," and that was a time when she had some dark moments in her life. Martine Johanna likes to explore colour and beauty to bring out the innermost emotions on canvas. Her background as a fashion designer helped her capture the beauty of women on canvas, and they all seem distracted or to be looking for something in the future. Her paintings are autobiographical and seem to have a somewhat clouded history with additional abstract elements. Since 2008, Martine Johanna has travelled extensively through America and the Netherlands, showcasing her painting talents.
