My acrylic paintings are about staging an alternate reality: the illusion of verisimilitude on a painted surface, filtered to express my unique vision. Although my paintings may appear photorealistic, my goal is not to reproduce or document what I see with complete fidelity, but to create the illusion of depth and a sense of presence not found in photographs. Many of my paintings explore the relationship between light and reflective or transparent surfaces, as well as my journey to understand those qualities and convey my sense of wonder and intrigue.
